11.15.07 More Gravy, Please!

Well, Thanksgiving is almost here... and then it's Christmas and New Years already?! Time always seems to run faster than ever this time of year, and I've got a couple announcements!

First off, this week-end I'll be attending the Leather Market Place and Erotic Art Fair sponsored by the GMSMA. It's at the LGBT Community Center, 208 W 13th St, NYC. Doors open 3pm-9pm and admission is $10. There's gonna be loads of artists as well as live demos and workshops, so it should be well worth your money. Stop by the art fair and say "Hi" and check out my stuff! I'll have drawings and sketches for sale as well as post cards and greeting cards available. So get a jump on your Holiday shopping and stop by!

My next BIG announcement is that I'm currently working on an adult gay erotic comic series with Dale Lazarov. Dale is the writing genius behind such awesome stuff as FANCY and STICKY. It's a big honor for me to be working with him, and I'll be updating with more about this as the project moves along. All I can say now is the collection will be serialized onlline at Adult Web Comics in the coming year.

10.31.07 Trick or Treat

I hope everyone has a great Halloween! I plan on rockin it all night... to GUITAR HERO, that is. Yes, I am one of those people who loves that game. More importantly, however, I have friends that support and encourage and share my affection for it.

Anyways, wanted to add that my gig at SPLASH is over, but I've started attending life drawing sessions at the Leslie-Lohman gallery in downtown NYC. It's fun and a great way to meet fellow artists while drawing some hunky male models. I'm more inspired by the fact that I get some decent lighting.

09.14.07 Pitch a tent

This past WED was my Sept gig at SPLASH! The boys were all wearing their camping gear and yellow Boy Scout kerchiefs, so it was a little hard to tell if someone was into watersports or if they were just getting into the spirit of the evening! But it went pretty well. My condolences go out to co-host MAX SCOTT who was unable to be there because of a death in the family.

But the band played on, and so did I (sort of) by trying to draw some more hotness for the evening. I tried using the yellow bandana theme, ending up with a rather nice backside view. Check out the new stuff in the GALLERY section!

Also note that I opened up a CafePress store, and started uploading some designs for cards and stuff. The art for the cafepress items is also in the GALLERY (just look for those gallery images marked with the cafepress website)!

08.16.07 Are you a pitcher or a catcher?

So last night was my official last gig for the Summer, but Aaron Tanner has asked me to keep on keepin on and return as part of a regular thing! Yeah for me!

Last night was fun, and was full of guys from LUCAS ENTERTAINMENT! I actually tried sketching one of them who was kind enough to pose for me. His name is Jonathan Vargas, and he's a total super sweet guy. Anyways, I think the sketch came out pretty good. (esp since it was done in a matter of minutes!) Take a look at my sketch and his pic to judge for yourself. (see left) I have the "painting" of this sketch along with another one from last night in my GALLERY section: so check it out!

As per usual, the lighting was terrible and I had several drinks. But never-the-less I think the two pieces I did aren't too bad. I actually had several people comment and inquire if they could BUY one of them, but unfortunately, I have to keep all of them for club decor for a while! (Note to self: get shop open ASAP!)

To be honest, WED nights are never totally packed (it is a school night after all), but it's always fun because you'll never know who you're gonna meet. Where else am I going to get the chance to actually meet porn stars? Well... let's not go there, shall we?

07.25.07 Hump LEATHER STYLE!

Finally got to downloading and sorting out my photos from last Wednesday at SPLASH! It was a lot of fun, as usual, thanks to the friendly folks and a surprise visit from a pack of scantily clad porn stars and dancers! My camera managed to work, and here are a couple pics from the event. (see left)

Check out the GALLERY section for a peek at what my work there that night looked like. Keep in mind that I'm painting and drawing on unprimed canvas taped to mirrored walls while stradling leather sofas. Not to mention the poor lighting and drinking a few cocktails... it's a wonder I got as far as I did, actually! Not exactly prime conditions for art-making, but never-the-less, I think the finished pieces looked pretty good. What do you think? Would love to hear your comments.

It's always nice to get out of the studio and meet people. It's a challenge for me to be social while making art. It's usually a very private process that I dive into, but I enjoy being able to meet people and talk shop, tastes in art, men, etc. Thanks to Aaron Tanner (bottom pic, far right) for the opportunity!

07.12.07 UPDATES!

Updated the site and put some new art in the gallery section! Note that the "shop" isn't open yet (hence the link not working) but I intend to open it soon in order to make available prints and original sketches, paintings, etc.

I wish I had some more pictures of my event night at Splash, but my camera is busted! Even with new batteries, I managed to only get ONE good shot before it concked out on me! (sigh) Well, I'll try to get more somehow next time. If anyone out there took any or knows someone who did, I'd love to post them up here! Just email me your pics!

06.27.07 Hump Wednesdays at SPLASH!

Thanks to everyone that braved the rain and came out to see me! I was greatful to have some good friends and friendly patrons stop and visit. I appreciate everyone's kind remarks and comments. I had some trouble getting the canvas I was painting on to stick to the walls, but luckily, the manager had some heavy duty tape and saved the day. Also thanks the the lovely and talented Ms. Trai La Trash! (see pic above) Of course, I can't forget also to thanks Mr. Aaron Tanner for all his help for making this possible. Be sure not to miss my NEXT art event at Splash coming up JULY 18 (leather theme)!
